Welcome to the ankerstein.center

Here I provide a stone catalog, a system to manage the personal Ankerstein inventory, a database of ankerstein sets and a collection of building plans.

What do I get here

When I started using Ankerstein I found it particularly difficult and error-prone to identify stones by their stone numbers. Similar painful was to find out which buildings I could build with my collection of Anker stones that was composed of a wild mix of stone sets and single stones.
To solve these issues I developed this ankerstein.center.
The ankerstein.center is a catalog of Anker stones, a system to manage a collection of Anker stones, a database of Ankerstein sets and their connections, and a collection of new and historic building plans.
Currently the following features are available:

  • Stone catalog
    • Width, height, length, diameter, arch-span
    • Angle(e.g. of roof stones)
    • Shape (e.g. cuboid, Gothic arch, dome, ...)
    • Stone number GKNF, GKAF
    • Color
    • Search, filter and sort using all attributes
    • Visual search (all stones have images from 2 angles which are exact to scale. Scale fidelity is guaranteed on any monitor)
    • Isometric views
    • Impressed surfaces
  • Ankerstein sets
    • Series, name, password, content
    • Search, filter and sort for all attributes
    • List all stones and their amounts in a set with all attributes
    • Search, filter and sort the content of a set using the same stone attributes as in the catalog
    • Packing plans and builder's packing plans
    • List all possible supplement sets and predecessor sets of a specific set
    • Visualization of all connections between sets
  • Manage personal Ankerstein collection
    • Compile own collection from several Ankerstein sets
    • compile own "sets" from single stones
    • maintain shortage counts
    • Search sort and filter the set composition of the collection
    • List stones and their amounts in the collection with all attributes
    • Search, filter and sort the content of the collection using the same stone attributes as in the catalog
    • Compare collection with the requirements of building plans
  • Building plans
    • Historic and new building plans
    • Building title, leaflet, author, series, set

    • Search, filter and sort the requirements of a building plan using the same stone attributes as in the catalog
    • Compare own collection with the requirements of a building plan
    • Verify that a personal composition of buildings can be build with the own collection

Overview
This privacy and cookie policy (the "policy") becomes effective on May 25, 2018 for all users, provided that enhanced data protection rights in this policy required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (including, without limitation, the "EEA Resident Rights" described in the "Other Important Privacy Information" section) become effective on May 25, 2018 for all EU-resident users who are natural persons.
We, the operator of the ankerstein.center - currently Michael Erhard - explain in this policy how we collect, process and/or use information that we receive via our websites, emails we send, and mobile applications (collectively, the "ankerstein.center" or "platform") that link to this policy, as amended from time to time. This policy describes how we collect, process, use, share and secure the personal information you provide. It also describes your choices regarding use, access, and correction of your personal information. For purposes of this policy, personal information shall mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
This policy applies only to information we collect, process and use through the platform. This policy does not apply to information that we collect through other channels, such as information that we collect offline, from other websites or from emails you send us.
Information We Collect
We collect information about you to provide our services. In order for us to best provide our services to you (and to help make it feasible for us to do so), it is essential that we are able to collect and use the information as described in this policy. This means that the data collection is largely necessary for fulfilling the relationship we have with you, and where that is not the case, we have a legitimate interest in collecting the information described below.
Information You Give Us
When you fill out registration forms, or provide us with other personal information actively, we collect that information for processing and use in accordance with this policy. Because we change our offerings and features from time to time, the options you have to provide us with personal information also may change, but here are some examples of situations in which you will have the opportunity to provide personal information to us:
Creating an account;
Contacting us for technical support;
Creating and modifying remarks for objects like stones, stone sets, building plans or similar;
Maintenance of your stone inventory;

Depending on how you interact with our platform, the personal information we collect from you may vary. For example, to create an account we may ask only for an email address, first name, last name, country, salutation and password. We also store if you are member of the CVA. In addition we also collect and store certain information associated with actions you take. For example, when you search for a stone, we store the search definition so we can show you the same search result when reopening the page.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the platform, your device is automatically providing information to us so we can respond and customize our response to you. The type of information generally includes technical information about your computer, such as your IP address or other device identifier, the type of device you use, and operating system version.
We do not store this data. Information like the URLs of our web pages that you visited, URLs of referring and exiting pages, page views, time spent on a page, number of clicks, platform type, location data or other information about how you used the platform is also not collected or stored by us.
The only exception to this is that we store your last login date and time.

Automated means of data collection include the following:
Cookies
We use cookies solely to remember users’ settings and for authentication. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, but if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain features or functions on our website or service.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to provide our services. In order for us to best provide our services (and to help make it feasible for us to do so), it is essential that we are able to collect and use the information as described in this policy. So it is largely necessary for fulfilling the relationship we have with you.
Your email is required to communicate with you, and it is part of your credentials necessary to login. Your password is also required for a successful login. The salutation allows us to approach you with the right salutation. Your first name and your last name is necessary to name you as author for publicly viewable remarks and building plans that you created or designed. Language and country are required to show information in country-specific formats (weight, length, date, ...) and to show the user interface and help in the language you specified. The CVA membership we need to be able to provide content for you that is restricted to CVA members. Settings like scaling, default caliber, default color or the discrepancy tolerance level are increasing the usability of the ankerstein.center. We automatically collect information like the last search criteria, sort order, result sizes or similar separate for each area. This information is solely collected to allow us to display the same search results when repeatedly accessing a page.
Why Is It Necessary To Register / Login
An essential part of the functionality of the ankerstein.center is the maintenance of your own inventory. This information is then used in most other areas of the platform, so we can provide useful personalized data. For example, with every building plan we show if your collection allows you to build the building. A second important functionality is the help to identify stones, which would not be possible without an individual setting of the scaling. All this requires that the inventory data and settings are separate for each individual user. That makes it mandatory to register and login to the ankerstein.center.
How We Share / Distribute Information
We use service providers in Germany (currently just web-hosting through 1blu GmbH) to help us deliver our service and run our business subject to strict confidentiality agreements. These companies not authorized to use your personal information, and do not have access to it.
We do not share your personal data with any third party.
Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored on your computer, mobile phone, or other device when you first visit a page. We use cookies to help us recognize you on the platform and to enhance your user experience. After you register on the platform, we may connect information we collect from the Cookies set by us with other information received from you. The provision of your data via Cookies is voluntary except for those Cookies that we place on your device because we need them for the performance of our platform and our services.
What types of Cookies do we use?
We use two types of Cookies on the platform: "session cookies" and "persistent cookies." Session Cookies are temporary Cookies that remain on your device until you leave the platform. A persistent Cookie remains on your device for much longer until you manually delete it (how long the Cookie remains will depend on the duration or "lifetime" of the specific Cookie and your browser settings).
